Just in case you haven't been following solar system astronomy news there is a bright comet - C/2020 F3 NEOWISE - currently visible in binoculars just before sunrise and after sunset. Here is what the Washington Post had to say about it today:
I was easily able to see it last night in binoculars between 9 and 10 PM low over the trees facing NW on Boyd St. It will be at its closest to us here on Earth on July 23 - BUT my weather app tells me that JC may be getting clouds and rain for the next week, so spot it while you can.
If the weather is clearish at all we'll be out on our front porch at 112 Boyd Street this evening. Stop by and BYOB(inoculars)! I'm attaching a screen cap from the SkySafari iOS app to help spot it in the evening sky.
