Unmowed Lawns, Absentee Landlords, Derelict properties

If your neighbor doesn't mow the lawn until it is 24" high, you can call The city, Code Enforcement at 434 6047, and they will come and measure the grass. If it is 24" high, they will send the home owner a letter giving them 8 days to have it mowed. If this doesn[t happen, the city crew will come and mow it, and add $200. to the tax bill. I have received 2 calls in the last 3 days trying to find out about this. In both cases, the homeowner has moved and left the house empty. If you have a property close to you that is becoming an eyesore, and is empty, and no repairs being thought of , you can call the City and ask for Paul Morrison. At this point in time, that is about all you can do. SNO cannot do this for you, and we have no more influence with the City than you do.. In fact , the more people who call, the better. THanks.
