Tree Streets Neighborhood

Johnson City, Tennessee • Southside Neighborhood Organization

Jodi Jones mentioned this to me, and after looking it up, I absolutely love this idea. The Little Free Library is a community book share. The "libraries" are tiny houses with glass doors, usually on a pole, decorated however the community or owner/caretaker's creativity sees fit. I think our neighborhood is perfect for this. We have so many bibliophiles, artists, skilled craftsmen, children and just such a great community. This is a project that will not need much money to sustain once it is off the ground.

The libraries can be purchased, or built ourselves. The plans are available online.

This has been done in communities all over the country (and the world.) Everything is available on the website. There is support, FAQs, tons of photos, ideas and links to great Pinterest, and Instagram images.

What do you all think? Think we would use some of these in our community?
