Descriptions of garden on the tour:

1. Linda and Rick Gordon, 906 Southwest Ave.  When you enter this garden you won’t know where to look first.  A new whimsical garden has been added to the front yard creating a private seating area.  As you move into the backyard you see an old garage that has been converted into a quaint cottage.  The entire garden is decorated with vintage collectables that the homeowners have picked up through the years adding to its charm.

2. Once Acre Café, 603 W. Walnut.  A demonstration on building your own rain barrel will take place in the corner garden.  This event is from 10:30 to noon only.

3. Dogwood Farm & Vineyard, 1105 Sevier.  A small urban farm in the center of the Tree Streets featuring a small wine producing vineyard, multiple vegetables, cut flowers ,herbs and a pumpkin patch.

*There will be a hydroponics demonstration by Downtown Farming

*Also a Pollination Information Station.  Find out what’s killing our native pollinators and ways to provide an ideal habitat to encourage and protect our pollinators.

4. Kathy and Mark Serago, 700 W. Locust.  A colorful cottage style tea garden greets you as you enter the side yard.  A large koi pond with lilies dominates the backyard and if we are lucky the frogs will serenade us.  Most of the water lilies bloom around 11am.

5. Betty Moore, 722 W. Locust.  The homeowner has transformed this yard into an array of colorful perennials.  A 79 year old playhouse is nestled into a corner of the cottage style garden.   A multi-tiered deck completes this beautiful backyard.

6. Tammy and Ronny Hamilton, 811 W. Pine.  In the 4 years the homeowners have lived here they have transformed the backyard.  A large flagstone patio with a pergola makes this the perfect place for entertaining.  A fireplace completes the seating area and the yard is surrounded with perennials.

Musical entertainment provided by Eddie B at this location.

7. 814 W. Locust.  This garden is run by Tom Fehr, owner of Suburban Greens.  It is one of eight (8) gardens located in both urban and suburban areas.  All of the gardens practice sustainable, organic methods.    Suburban Greens sells their produce through Community Supported Agricultural (CSA) shares.  They deliver to the ETSU campus, to homes in the Tree Streets, and to the Bristol Regional Medical Center.
